This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
Currently, I am living in a place where our local pharmacy closes at 9 pm, and this is very hard especially to this family who have kids. I practically buy and stores up medicine in our home for emergency purpose but sometimes when emergency rises up I thought I had stored medicine but there's nothing to pull from the cabinet. Having a 24 hour pharmacy is a big advantage and help for people living the area.
You may already heard about Express Scripts Inc (acts as a middleman between pharmacies providing the health care service and employers and health plans who pay the medications) has decided that Walgreens (pharmacy provider) will no longer be in it's network, doing so has upset thousands of military personnel, families, and veterans are affected. Walgreens customers are force to find new pharmacies that may not be convenient to their home or work.
Walgreens wants to help, support and serve the troops including those in the Tricare (the health and prescription drug program for America's military service men and women)pharmacy program but Express Scripts rejected the offer. Read the Walgreens press release about Walgreens and Express Scripts.
If you are one of the affected by this action, you can contact your local media outlets to voice your concerns and dissatisfaction.
Walgreens wants to help those affected, and they are offering discounts on their Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens for those who join between now and January 31, 2012. Discounted rates are $10/family, $5/individual.
